Neither. The rules and regulations and commandments are obviously man-made, and the love-everybody thing is -- pardon me for saying it -- obviously wishful thinking.

God is merely an expression of human desires, including:
1) the need to explain things or have things explained; and
2) the wish to avoid hard work.

After all, astrophysics and developmental biology and calculus are hard. But "god did it" is easy.

I beleive in a God who gave us rules and regulations to tell us how to live better. He did not intend for the rules to be used to inhibit, control, or opress people. The Scribes, Pharisees, and Saducees (religious leaders) in Jesus time were beating people over the head so hard with the rules that the people could barely function. Jesus came and explained that it is not wrong to do good just because of strict adherance to the rules. Many Christians don't understand that. They were never taught the truth.

Love, Hope, & Peace,

God who loves and forgives, also God with rules and regulations. who knows best you or God? God does not ask much of us but to follow him and do the right things. I love Jehovah and Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul

God has rules and regulations, but He loves and forgives. So both, I guess. Sort of like an earthly father, but better.

I believe a God who loves and forgives.God expects me also to live a sin free life, that is since He is loving and forgiving I should not live anyhow because I know He will forgive me . No. That should not be my life.

I believe in God. He loves and forgives us in spite of our sins. He made rules to guide us to the right way.

Starts from the day you are born.
Don't touch the stove because it is hot, not because it is wrong. Don't steal the chocolate bar because it is wrong.....not because you will get caught!
Don't hit Johnny because it is wrong...not because I will spank you!
Life only becomes more difficult when you don't instill proper behavior from the start...you can't back track when they have learned they can get away with it.
If you learn he will forgive, then people don't apply right and wrong full heartedly, just ask a divorced catholic.

Rules just become idle threats.

Both! If there were no absolute 'rules', then there would be no need for forgiveness..

Have you ever heard of the 10 Commandments?
Well, they were not called the 10 'Suggestions'.

You commit adultery? Then you need mercy and forgiveness.

God loves and forgives.

God created the ten commandments, not just to give orders, because God loves us, he cares.
If God didn't discipline, what would that say, that he don't love us.

Jesus said, "If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed, and you shall know thr truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32(KJV)
