Do you find it ironic that white americans are complaining about LEGAL immigration when they themselves were the first (uninvited)immigrants to that continent?

Do you find it laughable that all people of colour and immigrants, Christians, Hindus, atheists alike are constantly being targeted and denigrated following the mindless actions of a few MUSLIM fundamentalists?

Dane my point is that ethnic people are getting targeted irrespective of their religious beliefs - even black atheists are being treated like they are either terrorists or they are here to steal the white man's jobs.

Enigma i think you are right to a certain degree but i think there are a lot of fully grown adults participating in it too and they should know better!

White people went all over the world, took what they wanted, slaughtered and enslaved the inhabitants as seemed best to them, developed a whole system based on white superiority that they tried to force on the rest of the world. It is not just US. All over the world now white people are screaming about immigration, legal or not. They still think that they should be able to go anywhere, whether to live or to visit. They think it is a favour to the local people. But they don't want anyone coming to their countries.
They seem to have a total lack of self knowledge and understanding of other people's point of view. I don't find it laughable, nor do I think that the actions of Muslim extremists are the cause. I think it has only been an excuse, and an encouragement to them to express the views that they already held.
That's why they target all kinds of people, Mexicans, Romanians, Africans, Indonesians..... It has nothing to do with actions of Muslim fundamentalists.

Racist comments by anyone is wrong. But racism is not limited to whites.If you believe anthroplogists, man began in either Africa or the Middle East. The major theory is that Asians crossed the Bering straights into North America as the followed animals to hunt. Were these Asians invited? Since North America had no countries or government there was no one to "invite or uninivite" Europeans here. Thank God these Europeans came, they gave us the great country we live in today.

Americans of whatever color don't object to legal immigration but illegal immigrants who are flooding into our country are draining needed funds for schools and social services, incresing crime, and attacking our culture. Unfortuanetly many want to remain cultrually as Mexicans. Do you really want America to be like Mexico-a corrupt, third world economy, that attacks their native people (Indians)? Thanks but no thanks.
If all people of color and immigrants were being targeted then why would they want to come to this country in the first place? Muslim extremists are causing terror throughout the world, and being a person of color will not protect you from their mindless hate. Have you ever seen pictures and the names of people murdered on 9-11, many are people of color and foreign born? Stop your irrational racist hate of whites, and start thinking for yourself rather than simply repeating the drivel you here from others.

In response to your genocide comment: I agree the native Americans were victims of genocide by Europeans and I'll add that Africans were victims of European slavery. What does that have to do with your question about immigration and should we still blame Europeans for what happened hundreds of years ago over something we don't have any control over today? Only if you want to play the race card and be a professional victim. Every group has had it's obstacles to overcome, it's time to start living in the present. We need to study the past, but it is not the alter on which all truths today can be found.

Do you not understand what is happening here or are you just going to play the race card about everything throughout your life. Is is not about race it is about a group of people coming into this country illegally. Taking advantage of our government our nedical system and taking jobs that Americans will do. They are depressing wages and are bankrupting the hospitals in the southwestern United States. They are going to take away your way of life if given half a chance hell they are doing it now. Ever wonder why you have to "press one for English with every ATM or call to a company?They don't want to assimilate they want to take as much as they can get and don't care if they break the law to get it. I have lived in Southern California since I was 12 yrs old I came here in 1968 and have seen the deteriorization of the area crime has gone up half the city of LA is covered with Spanish language signs billboards, some parts of LA are indistinguishable from Mexico. Is thatwhat you want in your neighborhood to be the only one left who can speak read and write English and be treated like you don't belong or are somehow the bad guy when you ask your neighbors to have their kids stop trashing your yard and street? That is the wayit is becoming here and it has gotten much worse in the past 10 to 15 yrs. So go ahead and play your race card and call everyone who is concerned about the future of America and see how long before it effects you it won't be long and it probably already has but you are to caught up in calling people racists to see it. Look around your neighborhood or in your school or go by the local Emergency room and see how many illegal Hispanics are there waiting for free healthcare that your taxes have to pay for.

First of all, everyone is a person of color. I am a light peach color. Why do people assume that if you are against a flood of people entering your country illegally that you dislike their ethnicity? I dislike LAW-BREAKING. As far as history of "the white man", I think we (meaning everyone in the modern world) are much more enlightened. While I may disagree with certain policies of the past, none of those people are alive today and why should I be held responsible or criticized because my skin happens to be the same color as those people of long ago? I am an INDIVIDUAL, not a unit of some monolithic race. We have got to stop placing people in categories and attributing everything they do to their race or ethnicity.

I tend to agree with your train of thought. In the UK there is a gathering overall feeling that we simply cannot take in any more people. And that immigrants somehow 'drain' or 'sponge off' us. We pay taxes and 'these people' come over here (UK), get on the dole (or some other form of social services - which you can ONLY do if you are LEGAL) and will happily just live off the £55 they get a week. (Except it is expensive to live here. My grocery bills for 2 are around £80 a week!) Many still think that refugees get money like the dole whereas they live in terrible & overcrowded housing, only get vouchers for food and are unable to work and hence have very limited lives. 'Better than their home country' is the answer one gets when these facts are pointed out and yet some refugees I have met are not better off. They live isolated lives, are homesick and cannot contribute to society. Plus they have to deal with racism. Another big annoyance I hear often is the fact that communties that are non-white spring up and then you get clutters of Africans, Afro-Carribbean, Asians, sub-continent Asians and the Islamic community. The annoyance seems to be 'these people' are not integrating into society and not only keep aloof but keep their habits and cultures and essentially do not become 'white'. Yet 'they' live in our midst and want the same rights as 'us'. As someone said to me the other say: 'If they want to live here, why don't they simply learn our ways instead of wanting to bring their culture with them?' Another common white question is: 'If Islam is such a peaceful religion, why are there so many Muslim terroists? A religion is made up of its followers, you can't say the religion is peaceful but its followers are violent!'
Because we are in the midst of these times, it is near impossible to be objective - we all are children of our times. It may we are starting to believe there isn't enough resources to go around (20% of the world's population go through 80% of the world's resources) and we are trying to push people out. It may be incompetent governments lead us down this path to distract us from their incompetencies (it's THEIR fault not OURS). It may be we have never been so multicultural before and we need to re-adjust to a 'smaller' world.
This post is about legal immigrants but if you allow me to say one more thing: illegal or legal immigrants are not the problem. Helathcare, education and social services have all been going downhill for a while. Population is a problem but it is internal breeding and the fact that governments are not willing to take care of their citizens as they used to. Tax cuts and the downsizing of governments make the NHS (UK) and Medicare (US) ineffective. If we as the population truly wanted better hospitals, schools, etc we would probably get them. We simply are too focused on our own affluence. We want 5 star treatment that we can pay with a coupon. We want everything for as little as possible. Governments know these and react accordingly. And offer us immigrants as an escape goat. Illegal immigrants are a problem but mostly they also boost the economy. If they are illegal they get some things, like healthcare & schooling, but they never get benefits and pay taxes which they get little return for. Plus they have no rights. If it were truly a problem -that is, less benefits to society as a whole, believe me, it would have been sorted out a long time ago.
As for immigrants who are here & there legally, what a difficult life!
