You would have to contact one of the catering firms in Aberdeen Kelvin catering or commercial catering just to name but a few. Hiring of catering staff is done through their agencies. To work on an oilrig you would be required to undergo an offshore survial certifcate course before being allowed on the rig. This involves getting out of a submerged helicopter (simulated) and swimming
I am unsure whether these catering firms still pay for an
employee to be out through this survivial training or whether it is down to indivual to put themselves through it. Use to be something like £250 for the course.

Jungle > offshore oilrig. Reasons. Jungle = faster decay of zombies. People also live in the jungle and have lived there for quite some time. Using local materials you can easily build a shelter high above the ground and make a form of rope to climb up and down from it. Also you can learn from the local people about what to eat, and what not to eat. and provid them a method to survive. Here's why the oilrig is a bad idea. Stroms can cumple it in no time, with changes in weather patterns you don't know what you're about to face out there. Salt air destroys technology and rusts metal. After even a year or so without proper maintinence the platform will degrad. Also unless you know how to work the controls the oil that the rig is pumping up can be your undoing. unless you shut it down and run off minimal power you can blow yourself up if you don't know what your doing. also those supplies will run out. the water filtration will fail. what will you do with all that water that you can't drink? Best choice IMHO - plataue or high steep mountain. sheer cliffs all around (zombies can't climb). and you can easily build your own farms there. just need alittle semi flat land :)

If you are fairly young, might be an idea to get your RGIT survival certificate first, as this gives you an advantage for jobs.
Loads of work out there for chefs, good luck mate.
PS if you are flexible enough to start as a steward you might find this will increase your chances.

Just make sure you are a very GOOD chef! If not, and they come after you, you will have no place to hide...and if they catch you, you may become a meal for any sharks in the area. Hope you are a good swimmer too!
