Yes I've been on this med for 2 years for pain from Fibromyalgia. It's a pretty mild pain reliever. Nothing like narcotics but it's safer than ibuprofen for your stomach. Sometimes it makes me drowsy.

I did not have much success with Tramadol for neck whiplash injury. You may have better luck with it. Doctor finally gave me prescription for generic Vicodin, which helps, but he won't keep me on it long term because Vicodin can be addictive, I guess.
Stick with the Tramadol for a while to see if it helps, if not go to Doctor and Plan B like i did. Best of luck to you!

I have taken tramadol and it has worked for me, it's usually for mild to moderate pain, I have stomach problems and it didn't bother my stomach. My husband on the other hand took it for back problems and it worked for awhile but stopped working after awhile. Everyone is different but I think it is a safe drug and not a narcotic. Good Luck.

Tramadol (Ultram) is a non-narcotic analgesic used to treat mild to moderate pain. It is NOT a controlled substance, so no need to worry about physical dependence. I have included a link for you to review everything you need to know about tramadol. Tramadol is a synthetic opioid and iv used the intravenous form for mild to moderate pain in trauma patients. to give an example i gave it to a patient with a fractured tib-fib to help splint it and it worked.

Good stuff. Non-narcotic pain reliever. I take it for bone pain and sometimes add an aspirin if my joints are inflammed. Never had a problem with it.
