I love the conventional style. It's one of my favortie positions. It allows me to kiss her and suck on her nipples while having sex. YAY...for missionary.

It depends on the person and the couple, as far as smooth and easy or hard and erratic. And whatever you prefer that given day you should communicate that with your partner. But one reason I can think of, why many would prefer hard and erratic, is that our society is becoming more hard and erractic (literally). We live in a fast food society where we want everything right now, and fast. We are spoiled by increases in technology that allow us to cut down on leisurely pursuing activity and taking the time to be patient and enjoy the experience.

Apparently you're not very skilled at doggy style...when done properly, it is smoother and easier than missionary.
