You need first to accept who you are, and to know that you have a right to exist, to be free, and to be happy with yourself.
Friends are a good source of potential lovers. If you have few friends, start casting the net. Befriend first, rather than wait for friends to arrive.
Trust is a harder issue than love. Trust is vital, if love is to have some sort of stability to it. Without trust, a relationship is worthless.
Finally, don't fall for the trap that a person is somehow incomplete without a partner. That's a combination of peer pressure, TV and newspaper indoctrination and family expectations - every parent wants to see their children grow up happy. It's just that their idea of happiness involves you turning into clones of them. Your folks can't help thinking like this. It's in their genes.
There are some who seem to grow away from forming romances, and yet who seem unusually fulfilled. That's because, at some point, they have come to terms with themselves and their lives and, even though they are still alone, they know that the world loves them in some way, because otherwise they'd be dead already. This might not happen to you - I hope not - but it is possible to be fulfilled, and loved, and still remain single.
:D Whichever way your life goes, good luck.

You will have experienced love, or your understanding of love, in some small way in your life until now. So to some extent you already have found love, or been shown what love means.
You must be clear in your own mind what you mean by "find love". If you mean find a person who you want to spend the rest of your life with, then don't wait at the bus stop. If you mean find your own way to love living, then get on with it. When you are clearly enjoying yourself regardless of your situation, people will find you attractive.
So to some extent the best answer is to find what makes you love life, as opposed to death, and live that life. Love will then find you.
