I have a Magnavox 37" LCD HDTV

An LCD shouldn't make any noise (except for the audio). Knowing Magnavox and their cheap way of building things, they probably didn't allow for expansion while heating and the plastic and metal cabinet parts are expanding at different rates causing this noise. It should make similar noises when off and cooling down. As long as the picture and sound are okay, it's probably not an electronic problem and nothing to worry about.

To the person who says static: No, it's an LCD... there's no high voltage and, hence, no static.

If the sound happens around the screen, then it could just be static. Normal stuff.
