It's a known fact that stress causes stomach problems. In the old days when people were preparing to fight or handle a dangerous situation, their face would turn pale, they would sweat and their stomach would turn over. Signs of stress. The body is preparing for the battle and therefore leads the blood circulation away from the vital areas - read organs - of your body. That's why the blood leaves your face and you turn pale. Your blood runs faster as well to generate more energy for the fight.
Our bodies still give us these signals, although nowadays it is a different form of stress we encounter - f.e. sitting behind the computer for too long. That is why your stomach gets upset when under stressful conditions, it is natural bodily reaction of defense.

Yes, it can give you diarrhea or constipation, cramps, make you feel like it's in knots, things like that. It can also cause you headaches, heartburn, chest pains and a rise in your BP. You need to find a way to deal with the stress. I know you have issues over your money situation but staying stressed will not get you any money. Maybe you could find some odd jobs until you can find a job. It is winter where I live, I don't know what season it is where you live but cutting grass or shoveling snow (especially for the elderly) pays well. It's hard for them to find people to do those jobs. Check with the local senior center for odd jobs. Keeping busy will help you feel better. Good luck.
