Believing in God and surrendering to His will are two entirely different things...
One can always believe in God but for one reason or another reject Him...
I don't recommend it though... =)

Belief is more than mere suspicion:
Belief relies on knowlege derived from a review of fundamental allegations regarding facts and circumstances, and upon such testing of those facts and circumstances as is reasonable to satisfy the requirements of due diligence.
Faith resolves the extent that a premise can to a scientific certainty be neither proved nor disproved: it is the short bridge between reasonable uncertainty and steadfast belief.
That a person's beliefs might change daily back and forth is logically inconceivable.
It seems your acquaintance either has not considered the premises (and therefore only suspects that there might or might not be a God), or that he or she is wrestling with the matter in an attempt to determine the truth.
Either way, "belief" is (imho) far too strong a word to describe your acquaintance's opinion on any particular day.

I believe that God made us to be inquisitive about the world around us, even if that means some of us don't have a strong faith. Probably the reason most people have faith is because they were either taught from a child and as a grownup can see by the shape the world is in the real truth, or they had a life altering experience and felt touched by God in some way. Try not to judge this person and set an example for them by your faith, and above all else, pray for them. In this day and age, we don't have the advantage of Jesus still being here performing miracles right before our eyes to ascertain our faith, we have the advantage of God's word in the Bible. Hopefully they will see the light. As I said before, don't judge, just be there, pray, because this person may be under conviction and hasn't realized it yet.

Well yes it's possible it happens all the time to many people though mostly it is because they have lost someone or their prayers have taken long to be answered but it is possible.
With this new stories about Jesus being gay and his affair with mary magdalene confuses most people though it is not true and at times you may wonder where God came from and so on and so forth and end up not believing in Him but the next day when something bad happens, you remember His existance and ask for help from Him. The best way of stopping it is by praying on the day you believe He exists to gve you strenghth and the Holy spirit to keep on believing.

The fickleness of the human mind is natural. Belief can be changed, faith can be shaken. But just because one day you decide you believe, then the next day you question that belief makes you a questionable believer. Over time, there is developed what is instinctively relied on as the undercurrent of one's daily routine and it is still faith. One doesn't need to verbalize it at all times, it is just there in the mind--and the heart.

The truth is that all believers of God are subject to attacks by the Devil so frequently. The devil plants much doubt in their faith in God and thus they become sort of skeptic about their faith. Once they get over with their doubts about God, they grow in faith and return to praising and glorifying God. Every believer in God receives so much spells of doubt from time to time, therefore, it may happen even among pastors and preachers of God. The devil always working to plant seeds of doubts in the mind of believers.

Well of course it's possible.
But you should never doubt God.
Although almost everyone does, I myself a Christian, do have those moments sometimes too, but never have I stepped away from the thought of the Lord as not there for us or not believe in Him. How can there be no God?

Inside all men there is the struggle between light and dark, good and evil. We are all children of the spaces in between. Belief is belief, regardless of it's lifespan. Faith, on the other hand, is belief secured. All people seek for answers. We search in the light; we search in the dark. And good does not always triumph.

I agree with you, believing in God is a deep knowledge within you that He is. You see faith goes deeper, because it is the belief in action - its taking steps of trust, and when someone has done that, then they will have 'proved' God to be true for themselves.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
If you look at that person I am sure you will see wavering in lots of areas of their life.
Sounds like dangerous territory..
They have not learned to Trust, have Faith in God. It is a choice.
They are living in doubt.
They need to made up their mind.
Choose you this day whom you will serve...
