if you use Windows media player to rip the music off the audio cd's you can specify to store them as MP3 format. Also you have to tick the box that says you want to be able to transfer later to other devices or Media player will protect them to stop copyright infringement!!

Go ointo settings and ensure that its set to save as MP3. If you have an older version of Windows Media Player, you may have to upgrade

It automatically saves to wma format unless you specify otherwise. However mp3 saving is only available from version 10 onwards so either upgrade to version 10 or download a wma to mp3 converter software. Plenty of free software out there. Try sourceforge.
Below is a link with pictures of how to use version 10 to rip them to mp3 format.

There are 2 techniques for you: First, in case you could play copied cd on your computing gadget sound card, you may use a streaming audio recorder to record it as mp3 document straightly. 2nd, you may use a cd ripper to tear audio from cd and output as mp3 document. the two certainly one of them are somewhat elementary.
