and the people who were "going to hell" are rather the ones who go to heaven?

of course, for supposedly 7000 years now, people who believe in "the only way to salvation" will vehemently oppose my question and consider me a prime candidate for hell, but cest la vie.

Hello!! :o) As a Christian - I think there is going to be a LOT of very surprised people. [When it comes to where they end up] I just hope I'm not one of them. This concern of mine keeps me on my toes - and I think that's the way it ought to be. To take heaven for granted is a very dangerous thing to do. As for the 'only way to salvation' - I believe there IS only one way. But I promise you - if I make to heaven - and see YOU there - I will be thrilled. For it will mean that maybe lots of people made it in. No kidding. Craig!! :o)

The Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Open your eyes and ears.

Everyone seems to think you actually have to go somewhere. Almost like Heaven was some vacation on some far away island.

Ahh look there, I just missed my flight.

Yeah- it bothers me when people really believe that they are going to heaven and everyone else (other religions) is going to hell. Only God can judge you right? How does anyone determine that only Catholics, or only Jews, or only Muslims, or only Christians will be saved.....? People are soooooo arrogant! They think they have all the answers. Why would God create some many different races of people, if he only preferred one.... See what I mean?

Of course that would be interesting. But unfortunately no one knows until the time comes. Till then, so long as one live for Christ and follow His teachings, he is ASSURED of a place in heaven. No doubt about that!

Nobody actually "knows" that they are going to Heaven or hell, they simply assume they are. But inside, you can't really tell for sure. Nobody but God knows for sure. You just have to follow Jesus and God's word and help others follow It too, and hope you're going to Heaven.

Yeah, it'll be exactly as amusing as seeing people who criticize people for thinking that they will go to heaven because they believe in Jesus go to hell.

Therefore, not funny at all.

What kind of person thinks that eternal damnation (be it real or all in people's heads) is funny?

Maybe you should seek professional help.

Or find a better hobby.

Just trying to help, you seem kind of bitter and pathetic. :)

the only way to god is through jesus, but see, finally, its not because we know him, but HE DECIDES. maybe its just a metaphor.

then again, I think heaven is a big place with many subsections.
