Floss at least once/day every day! Periodontal disease doesn't ever go away, but you can get your gums healthier than what they started. See a dental hygienist to get your teeth cleaned and gums checked. If it's been a while, you may have to have what's called root scaling and/or if you're in advanced stages of periodontal disease, you may be referred to a periodontist. Periodontal disease not only affects the gums, but causes bone loss, which can make your teeth loose and possibly fall out.

Listerine is a good mouth wash and it can help somewhat. Use listerine on your finger and massage your gums for at least 3-4 minutes. Even better, use Hydrogen Peroxide for the message.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a great tool for mouthwash, cuts and abrasions, pimples, etc.

If your gums are hurting in one specific place you could have an abcess. They usually start on the gum, then the pain travels to the tooth. These can be serious, it means there is an infection. I would contact my dentist. If it is an abcess, you are going to be in a lot of pain later on today.

u can put "pyralvex" on ur gums. its like an iodine which helps sooths the gums fast. sometimes gum that hurts is a sign that ur starting 2 have sores on it.. this happens if u don't have sufficient vit.C intake.. ;)

You may have gum disease. Are they bleeding easily when you brush your teeth? It may be time to see the dentist.
