My hair is straight and black in colour. How does people look at it if wear loose. Or is it better to leave it in a bun or a braid as i used to wear it always.

That long of hair is always difficult to style and looks trashy unless very well maintained. The best length for long hair is never below the lower back (before reaching your butt). Plus if it's too long it will look limp and have no body because its being weighed down.
But, if you insist on having it that long, you can curl the ends wiht some heated curlers (the bottome 1/4). Then apply hairspray. If your hair is difficult to style ues a setting foam before you use the curlers. I don't think all the way loose will look good at your length, so try half ponytail with a clip.

I think that most people find that when hair is that long, it is very striking when it's loose. Buns and single braids are WAY too traditional, and obscure the natural beauty of your hair.

Cut it at least to the middle of your back. There are more styles and your hair will be easier to handle.
