lefang, Doesn't matter if they were born here. There are certain things in British life (like equality before the law, presumption of innocence, freedom of speech etc.) which are incompatible with the muslim viewpoint but which should not be sacrificed. If you don't want to abide by British laws or if you want to change them then you either emigrate get deported or you fight democratically (another concept hat is alien to Islam) to get those laws changed.

Ash, I disagree with you. I see little "Beauty" in our current "multiccultural" mess of a society; I see a whole lot of opposing different pressure groups based on ethnic or religious organisations who are not listening to each other but are just shouting at each other. The British in Arabia are mostly ex-pats working on short term contracts. In general, they conform to the laws of those lands (they don't have much alternative as their passports are retained by their employers) and they don't try to change the laws in Arabia. They don't protest in the streets. This totally different from the position here in the UK where we have a lot of settled muslims.

I haven't specifically singled out muslims except I think that muslims are the ones who are least likly to integrate (not asimilate) into the wider society. We do not seem to have the same problem with other ethnic/religious minorities like Jews/hindus/Sri Lankas/Black people. In fact, the black UK population is a good example of integration with many mixed marriages occurring in the UK.

Monk Mst, What planet are you inhabiting? I know that no muslim is supposed to harm another. But were you asleep during the Iran-Iraq war in the 190s when millions of muslims died? Were you snoring when the 9/11 bombers blew up the World Trade Centre and killed Muslims along with others? Were you comatose when muslim terrorists blew up holiday facilities in Indonesia killing far more muslims than christians or athiests? Finally were you napping when the 7/7 bombers (muslims) blew up tube trains and a bus claiming many lives including muslims. I do not need lectures from you about what muslims do to each other in direct contravention of their holy scriptures. I suggest you wake up.

dablaze, It is always amusing to me when I hear foreigners basing their views of a country on the basis of one visit to that country. You do NOT know whether British peop[le ate racist or not. So give it a break and stop trying to lecture us. Britain is probably the most tolerant society in the world - it has for millenia literally taken in immigrants from all over the world and it still does.

sarah c, what's so offensive to me you ask? Well, let's see:
a) No freedom of speech in Islam
b) Opression of women in Islam
c) No equality before the law - mmuslims before everyone else, men before women
d) Corruption on a grand scale
e) A non-capitalist economic system
f) Persecution of ethnic and religious minorities
g) No alcohol
h) Medieval non-human penalties for transgressions
i) the fact that muslims are allowed to lie against non-muslims

These are just a few of the rasons I think muslim and modern British values are incompatible. But there are many more.

I think that perhaps you've made a slight mistake by singling out moslems. This applies to each and every immigrant AND their decendants. Conform and swear an oath of total loyalty (above ALL ELSE) to this country and its elected leaders or, go somewhere else.
the issue of confirming is to prevent the British way of life from dying out. Whether or not the moslems take over and enforce sharia law, why should we see the cities turned into west indian slums or little calcuttas - complete with women wearing sheets, men wearing night attire, the sound of people banging old oil cans and insisting that it's music and, and, and. On the religious front, we now have to tolerate our next door neighbour cutting a goat or sheeps throat to placate some godlet or other.
This country has a tradition built up over many centuries. It is (admittedly nominally) a xtian country and its laws are based on the xtian ethic. Why should we change that for incomers? If they want moslem laws for example, then why not go to a moslem country?
No, I see nothing wrong with throwing them out or shooting them or whatever the people decide. They had a choice in the first place. nobody forced them to come here. Many in fact, come here because they don't like the government in their own country - so why do they try to introduce the same type of government all over again? Actually, the words rats and sinking ships comes to mind. These people should be staying in their own countries and changing things for the better (from their point of view) in their own place.

Well i have to agree with you 100%, not just Muslims, lets face it we were to go out there we would never get them to adapt to our way of life yet when they come he we have to adapt to them, if you don't your accused of being racist. We have to bend over backwards to make sure we don't offend them, we give them housing, money and in return they protest against and some even try to kill, If we went out there we would be locked up, and treated like dirt.

Explain what you mean by 'adapt'. What are they doing thats so offensive to you?
And how will you enforce this new law - bounty hunters getting paid to turn in mosques and the people who worship there?
What about other religions? After you've cleansed this country who will be next on your hit list?

no i dont agree, allthough it would be nice, if you would adapt more than alot of them seem to.... I dont particularly see anything great about the british way of life, eg work, sleep , tv, curry, raise nasty kids....

I really just dont care too much, i think it might be time to enforce lack of spirituality, in all democratic countries......

That actually is a problem. Did you know that the west is safe because of the Muslims... Muslims believe in universal brotherhood any 2 Muslims are brothers in faith and hence cannot harm the other in any way. So if you tell me that you want to throw out all of the muslims then you are a sitting duck for the fanatics or terrorists. They wont even care where they commit their acts because the whole country is their target. Think about the divide and rule policy you came up with, use it.

The way of life for Muslims are tuaght to them by their highly qualified, madharasa trained clerics before & after Friday afternoon prayers!!

That is why they have oil & water relationship (with reference to non muslims) every wehre they are found!!!

not only Muslim immigrants should adapt.usually when you leave your native country you must adapt to the new society because you have no choice.and why should they be forced to leave?some of them were born in Britain.
