last night i could only sleep a little. i dont know, i was awake, or i felt like my mind was awake and it wanted to stay awake like a standing guard. i couldnt truly concentrated to sleep. i sleep near window and (i dont know why) my eyes checked the sky at every 30 minutes. i think i only closed my eyes. my mind is at studies most of time..now i had a headache, and i feel very tired. any advise ? thanks..

If you are not on a diet, then eat a very good and big meal. Try not to eat small snacks because that will keep you up. You can also do a midnight workout and try to tire yourself then. Have you thought about drinking a lot of water before you go to sleep and maybe some hot chocolate or milk. Unfortunately, I'd only suggest the big meal if you are really wanting to sleep because it's not healthy eating a big meal before you go to sleep since there will be little energy used to get rid of it. If you're looking to eat and sleep healthy, then eat a big lunch and then a light-to-medium dinner. The rest will fall into place.

You can also try to tell yourself that you have to get up early in the morning so you need to clear your mind for the night. Take deep breaths by breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Try not to get more than 8 hours of sleep. It will make you even more drowsy.

If you're not able to sleep, then try power naps. You can even just close your eyes. The key is to let yourself heal and be regenerated each time you rest.

Take a study break by walking outside on a clear night. Make sure you're somewhat happy when you go to sleep. That helps me too.

Yea, I've been through the same thing. Now don't think I'm getting all zen on you or anything, but try doing some controlled breathing for a few minutes before you go to bed, in silence. Try to think of less stressful things the whole time from the breathing to when you actually lay down to sleep. For something like an exam, its hard not to think about it, but if you just keep pushing it out of your mind while you try to sleep, you'll bring the stress level down enough to actually go to sleep. Hope this helps.

I have trouble getting to sleep quite often and it's only recently that I've found something that really helps. I lay in bed and get comfortable, then actually try and keep my eyes open. Not fully open, just half way between open and closed. For some reason when I do this, it makes me feel really sleepy and the harder I try and keep my eyes open like this the more sleepy I feel. I usually just fall asleep then! This is very unusual for me a it usually takes me hours to fall asleep. Sounds weird but it's worth a try!

hopefully this isnt an english exam, but its stress. de-stress yourself somehow. you just need to clear your mind. if that fails, try banging your head into a wall REALLY hard. that should work.
