I have a pretty significant case of spinal stenosis ... symptoms worsening recently. Loss of feeling in both hands as well as diminished strength. My question is.... does anyone out there have similar issues and what is your treatment and prognosis?

Lumbar canal stenosis is becoming very common for some unknown reasons most probably because of prolonged office hours and incorrect posture. Gradually increasing use of computers and using laptops in toilets can increase the incidence. Laminectomy has proved worthless. Only non steroid analgesics are to be used. Exercise, massage and infra red irradiation also help. Cervical spinal stenosis also is similar.

Very strange. I had a laminectomy when younger and now suffer from stenosis (plus arthritis and scar tissue in lumbar region) Have had no strength in my legs for a while and now I wake every morning with no feeling in my right hand. Sounds like these symptoms are interconnected. Can anyone confirm this?

Decompressive Laminectomy is on the front end of effective treatments.Vertabrectomy would be on the back end!!! Good Luck
