rxqueen,Jesus, knew people of his day could not comprend his level so he spoke on their level of understanding,I think "mansions' are more a place in the heart of GOD,than material. (pure speculation on my part) However it is not speculation that GOD and JESUS wanted us to be fruitful and multiply. To understand why the rich get get richer, and poor get poorer, READ, LUKE 19:12/27. the rich having difficulty entering heaven, and the lust of money being evil, both are referring to the LOVE of, or LUST for, or the attachment to money. Love Whistle Britches.

God Desires Your Success
1 Samuel 15:22
God wants you to be successful. This does not mean He has an automatic plan for you to become rich or famous, although either of these may be included in His ultimate design for your life.
God's idea of success begins at the Cross where Jesus died. Success is not measured by what you do in life or what you gain financially. Your love and devotion to Jesus Christ measure your success.
In 1 Samuel 15, we read how Saul decided he would offer a sacrifice that only God's anointed priest was commissioned to offer. Since Samuel was not present, Saul felt justified in his actions and made the sacrifice himself.
This one act of disobedience cost Saul the kingdom. Here is a lesson we need to learn if we are going to be successful. God anoints certain people to do certain things. He has placed leaders in our lives for a reason. If we want to lead, we must first learn to follow.
If you fail to submit to your God-given authority, then success from God's perspective will be difficult to achieve.
A successful person has learned humility to the point that he no longer thinks about whether he has gained it or not.
We are called to do the will of God, but this only can be done at the feet of Christ.

I think that God giving people mansions in the end of all things is a great thing to do. Don't you? God is the father of us all whether we choose to believe that or not and if he wants to give you a mansion, who are you to gripe about not wanting material things? There will be a time when things of this earth will pass away and all will be new. I don't think that worrying about such things is remotely important. Eternal life is THE greatest gift you could possibly recieve and the greatest thing of all is that is absolutely free.

John 14:2 In My Father's house are many mansions.
It is meant that there are seats of various dignity and different degrees and circumstances of honor and happiness. There are many mansions in God's house because heaven is intended for various degrees of honor and blessedness. Some are designed to sit in higher places there than others; some are designed to be advanced to higher degrees of honor and glory than others are; and, therefore, there are various mansions, and some more honorable mansions and seats, in heaven than others. Though they are all seats of exceeding honor and blessedness yet some are more so than others.

Gosh, why have all the ppl who answered not know of the mansions in heaven. It says it in the bible... But anyway, God has put mansions in Heaven because he is rewarding us for being committed to him, loving him and surrendering our lives to him.

I think God took our eathly minds into consideration when he described mansions in heaven. As far as we can understand, they are mansions....but who knows what we'll know when we get there?
I can't really picture being in heaven trying to keep up with the Jones' next door. Whose house is bigger, whose lawn is greener, who does the best lights for christmas every year....:)

If God in His wisdom decides to bestow heavenly rewards on you for lifelong dedication to Him, don't you think you would be humble enough to accept? Go well, and may God Bless you and keep you.
And to those skeptics who question mansions in heaven - try reading John 14, v2 and be enlightened.

I don't recall learning about mansions in Heaven in catechism class. I was always under the impression it was more of a peaceful void filled with your loved ones who managed to make it there.

I have never heard that there were going to be mansions in heaven. Where did you hear it? I think it was just made up from someone. Our whole mindset will be changed once we get to 'Heaven'. We will not need , nor want, those things.
