I'm in a long distance relationship.. my BF calls and emails at least 2 times every week.. he told me he wants to marry me and his parents have agreed..
I spoke to my guy friends last night and they tell me.. men, they need a "hobby" every now and then.. going to nightclubs and kissing other women... So, I asked "so he might be cheating?" then they tell me.. no, it's like watching a game for the guys.. and it's like shopping for the women...
what do you guys think?.... it never occured to me to kiss other men.. or worse, to do more.. do guys really need it?

my BF says he isn't cheating.. i guess it's just hard because he's so far from me..
do you think kissing other women is just a hobby? and it's part of a man's personal life that they don't tell their GFs

I agree with "justwondering"...
You understand the one you love, don't you?
Don't quickly believe what your friends say -- you need to reflect it with your boyfriend's personality.
Who do you trust more, your friends, your boyfriend, or yourself?
Who dare to say a real love is when two are together but are encouraged to around and flirt others? If not encouraging, please don't say kissing and having something is like watching a game or shopping for stuffs.

I don't think so, I've been in an LD relationship for 7 years and I never thought about kissing another girl. Some guys, like your friends, need to fool around, but not every guy is like that. Also, I don't think your BF would bother to call or write if he was cheating.

you cant say without knowing the guy but i know this..
when my partner and i were apart for a long time, he called me everyday, sometimes twice and when i told him i was ok with him sleeping with another, he said he couldn't because all he could think of ever was me. I believed him and it was true. When you have found the right person for you, you just know. If you have any doubts, don't get married. If you are asking all of us here instead of your lover, don't get married. You should be able to talk to him about anything. If you have any issues with trust, dont get married!!! Sure, go out with the guy, have a relationship but whatever you do, don't get married. You don't know each other well enough yet!

You mention this is a "long distance" relationship. Have you ever met this person?
Do guys really "need it"...not like air, no. We all have freedom of choice, both men and women. Men are not compelled to "mate" like animals. It would be nice for them if women bought that crap. We all have desires and temptations. It is how we respond to them that makes us the person we are; male or female.
I suggest you get a little life experience under your belt, not to mention getting to know your bf a little better than a couple phone calls and e-mails a week before you even think about marriage...Good lord!

I think that is a line of crap they are trying to feed you. If a man truly loved a woman, he would have no interest in other women. If he is truly satisfied and happy, the woman he has would be all the woman he needs. I wouldn't just assume that he does that, though, just because your friends might. All men are not the same, some actually do respect the women they are with.

Guys tend to tell you bad things about other guys especially when they want to get into your pants. Sorry but it is true. Not all men are the same trust me...That is like saying all us women are the same. Don't believe everything you hear. Unless you hear it from him.

Sounds to me like he needs to be dumped. If he loves you then you're all he should need...not other girls and what if he goes further than kissing and catches some disease and gives it to you. He's a dog!
