No They are not safe to Join.
I would even avoid having them as friends. Although some people who are new don't know what the deal is.
It is a cult and they use mind control.
What you may think is innocent fun or belonging to a club, will end up controlling you and taking over your life.
They have secrets that they keep from you until after the 3rd level.
They are evil and condemned by most main line religions.

The Freemasons were originally a guild (or union) during the Dark Ages. Since then, they have developed a very rich symbolic system (clearly, to one who is into the occult like myself, their own system of magick), and have enlisted many influential people among their ranks. They are highly secretive, and the Masons I've known seemed to be truly petrified about revealing any of the Masonic secrets. I do not know what goes on behind closed doors, but any secret society that practices magick without telling its initiates, and then demands a blood oath that their secrets be kept, is not for me.

Today they are little more than a social club. I suppose you could call them the earliest union. There's no big secret, really, except that they keep their meetings closed to non-members. They are safe to join as any other group.
Disregard teh conspiracy BS. Secrecy and privacy seems to breed that kind of thing among the ignorant.

A secret society that has been known to benefit humanity. I guess they just like secrecy in their ops so that they cant be corrupted by the church, amongst others. I believe they are relatively safe, but they practice metaphysics, so if you arent open minded, be forwarned.

i have studied them. they are a cult. one form of them is called the scottish rite. they say they are following the light. but they will confess that that light is what they call lucifer. and the smoke of lucifer usually hovers in the room. does that sound alittle off?alittle satanic? and i have read about masons that make it to the 32degree i believe that is the highest place as a mason and they say that the elders say that they are told that everything the they (the masons) had told them before are lies and that they really worship satan. well anyway i've studied and thats what i've heard. i would stay away.
