How can I run window XP into 256 colors?

right click on your desktop. select properties
click on settings tab,
click on advanced
In the General panel
at the bottom there is a link to
running programs in 256 color mode.

change your VGA card into the old one which only support 256 colour

just depends what kind of graphics card you have or your intergrated graphics not all can handle 256

1) Right click anywhere on your Desktop
2) Select PROPERTIES
3) SETTINGS
4) Slide the SCREEN RESOLUTION bar
