What are the emotional reasonings for me having a thing for older guys?

There are several possible reasons. It could be because their maturity level may have been higher, your relationships with younger men were less satisfying, their financial status and position in life may be better, or possibly it could be the father figure image.
If you take the time and lie down, relax and slowly think back through your life...starting with your childhood to the present, you may discover the reason for yourself. Take your time and don't rush. It may take several days.
By doing so you will at least get to know yourself better(it did wonders for me...it put me in total contact with myself). This will help you to become more self assured and confident irregardless of your love life..

Same psychology as woman liking some guys her age and not liking other guys her age or liking guys younger than her. It is not illegal. If you are having sex with 9 year old boys, then you have some problems to figuire out. Maybe you like the guy, not his age.
Most women marry guys their own age and 50% get divorced. What is the psychology behind being married for only 6 months. For awhile I liked a woman 7 years younger than me. Then I liked a woman 7 years older than me. What does this mean? Absolutlely nothing. Many do not know that in most states the age of consention is 16.

Oh yeah. It's not about daddy or money. It's about the older guy being stable and loving. Older men mostly know what they want and are able to verbalize their expectations. Their emotions are better developed and they are much better at conversation.
Do a lot of people tell you that you are mature for your age? Because, you if you are, you may not have much in common with people in your age bracket.
Make sure you do not limit your life experiences due to dating this man. Make sure you still try to do age appropriate rituals and customs.
Try not to marry to young. You have a lot of life to live.

Well, your relationship is illegal right now....for him it is anyway. I like older guys (not my dad's age though) because I feel like I'm babysitting if they're younger...even a year or two.
As for you, you're probably looking for a father figure. Is your dad around and do you have a good relationship with him? If not, that could be the case. I've found myself attracted to older women (Not in a sexual way. I'm not gay...it's a friendship thing) and through therapy, I've discovered that I'm looking for a mother figure because my mom died 4 years ago.

Your 17 and I’m sure you have nothing to really offer him… so is a pride thing, like “hey look what I have” for him and I’ sure you just want to be taken care of… not a totally bad thing but you need to be able to stand on your own two feet…
All of that or you have some kind of daddy issue…

Boys are still very immature at 17. As you get older, you'll discover dating older men doesn't help. Boys will be boys and men will be boys. It's one of life's little disappointments.
