I believe that music does make a person feel more spiritual. I can be having a bad day, and I pop in a Christian cd, and it transforms my bad into more positive.

I love to listen to Third Day.

music has a charm to soothe ...

Good and bad in most things

If the music helps you release yourself from the daily grind and frees your mind to contemplate the uneffable...great....

If your attention is ON the music itself....then NO....you are not letting yourself go.....you are listening to the music rather than listening to your inner self, your "soul" , spirit....what ever term you use for the part of you that is trying to transend the physical ...

Music should be like a background "noise" that you are aware of only to the extent that it allows you to ignore other outside sensory impressions and then , helps elevate your mystic experience.... Much the same as works of art....

I tend to enjoy the contemporary praise songs sung in some churches because they are generally doctrinally sound while at the same time catchy enough to stick in your head for the rest of the week.

I'm a belly dancer, and I feel that music that is danceable moves me. (It doesn't just have to be belly dance music either, especially since I swing dance as well.)

Really passionate music is also moving for me: such as Staind, the Killers, and My Chemical Romance.

Pink Floyd is great too!

Music takes me to a different place. It can be classicial music eg orchestral, or modern music eg trance but the key is a beautiful melody.

i believe that music is able to remind us of our other physical senses. in this case music keeps us in tune with our hearing. because of the ability for our senses to raise or lower our emotional state, it can swing us from angry to sad to happy to lustful. it is my firm belief that through experiencing a full range of human emotions, we grow and through our responses to these emotions become adults who are responsible for the consequences that follow. it allows us to become a part of our environment and 'feel'. this is spirituality to me, being aware and lucid through change. my answer is yes.
