It's just that alot of people are not truly educated with this disorder. It is painful and unpredictable. My mother, bless her heart suffers from fibromyalgia and I am currently under observation to determine if I carry the same symptoms. I have to be honest I was one of the one that was not educated of fibromyalgia and didn't understand and now things are seen differently. I see that constant pains: fatigue, bone and joint pains and maybe dizzi spells...Perhaps getting yourself into a support group with someone that shares the same illness will help. With your type of illness you can not surround yourself around negitivity. I wish you the best and I understand. It's not easy.

I have pulmonary fibrosis I always hear well you dont look sick. If they had to spend 1 day living your life they would understand it is for real!! Im only 44 and have trouble walking some days seems more like im 90. The stress can add even more side effects.

Hi Frogmama, I hope my experience helps. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia two years ago and found pain relief more or less by trial and error. Prescription meds didn't do a thing for me, really. But what I found that works for me is 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime, and Arnica tablets (a homeopathic herb) as needed for flareups. You can order them at the link below for 1800homeopathy.com. Please keep us posted.

Try to not focus on their ignorance. I've seen limited success with avoiding corn in all forms--especially high fructose corn syrup. Try to eat all natural foods and avoid anything that's processed, like white (fill-in-the-blank) bread, flour, pasta, rice, sugar, potatoes, or even beans.

Keep your head up, and mark down each time you achieve a daily goal, like combing your hair or arranging your towels. It will make you feel better! ;-)

I have it too, and have had people tell me that it isn't real. I started not telling them about it because either they don't know what it is, or they don't care. It would be nice if more information was put out there so the general public would be more familiar with it.

People dont beleive what are they ignorant of.
They never heard of it so to them it does not exist
They never experienced the pain
I am so sorry for your pain
I know it is real as I have a friend who also suffers with it.

Because it mostly effects women and modern medicine has always been geared toward men. It's getting better but it's been a struggle.
