Your name used to be Ramwoozler, before someone came up with the cute nickname, eh?

Ditch wouldn't be any better than Bee-yotch for a nickname. I think the nickname Rick came from Richard, and then from Rick came Dick. And from Ricky, came Dicky. (Dickie is also It is also the name for a piece of knit fabric that is inserted inside a vest to make it look like there's a poloneck sweater under there.)

Lots of names (Billy, Bobby) have -y at the end. It's a diminutive, affectionate ending, (duck-->ducky, doll--->dolly, Sarah--->Sally) and the name just sticks even after the kid grows up.
