Fema director was the one that was to blame for the Katrina's way of responding towards this catastrophy. But in reality, that was just the way the gov. handled it period. All you whiners out there again are beggining to blame Bush for the Katrina disaster. Some arrogant Americans just think that they are the best at everything. When things like this happen (and there are many), they are always so surprised.

REMY, you are exactly the example why America is so hated all over the world. So what if I would be speaking Russian, or German. You bailed me out? LOL!!! Read a little more on real history books. Arrogant ba$tard.

Hey Mike, to begin with, that usual rethoric about "the Americans were the first ones there" is old. Remembert the Tsunami? China gave more aid and continues to do so. And yes, I stand firm on undocumented immigrants being taken advantage of and still being hatred by people like you.

The function of the Federal Government is to enforce the Bill of Rights and to protect the border. The President is not God, and is not responsible for natural disasters. It is clear that Louisiana's governor reacted like a frightened little bunny rabbit and that the Mayor of the Chocolate City ignored evacuation plans. This race crap gets pulled every single time the the leftists want to to try to get back in the saddle of the executive branch. Christ, they already own the Judiciary, the NY Times and the Legislative branch.

Bush is not a racist, the Federal Government has limited powers, and Louisiana has been given a boat load of federal money over the years that has been squandered through outright corruption.

Nearly all cities in the US were built and maintained by self-reliant people--not a big nanny government that was 1, 2 or 3 thousand miles away.

I would suggest that people quit denouncing Bush and make sure they elect competent mayors, governors and representatives instead.

As for me, I would have used the buses.

WOW! You would almost have some credibility in this post if you could only get past your hatred. The initial question was actually quite good. But, your responses to Remy and Mike ruined it.

If the U.S. had not entered World War II, Germany would have won and Hitler would have tried (and likely succeeded) to control everything. Germany was already in control of the war and it was only a matter of time before they won. The U.S. brought in forces that turned it around and helped the other allies get back on their feet. The U.S. did not win it alone, they helped turn it around.

I agree with Mike, what brought China into the discussion? As for America being ONE of the first there, like Mike actually said, is fact, not rhetoric. Nearly all major disaster victims receive aid from the U.S. and we get criticized because it's not "enough". Illegal immigrants are being taken advantage of, some of them. Mike said HE was not doing it and you generalized it and blamed him for it.

So here is your chance, without using any rhetoric of your own, tell me why illegal immigrants should be allowed in to the U.S. instead of fixing problems in Mexico. And don't tell me about the jobs Americans won't take or how it helps the economy because neither argument can be proven by either side. It is all rhetoric.

Hey Al-bert-o! judging by the looks of the questions you have asked in your history, every one calling Americans racist, I'm beginning to wonder who is the racist here! Well, at least you took the time to learn some English! It seems you constantly put down Americans, and it's too bad that you have nothing better to do. Most Americans were appalled at what happened with Katrina, because anytime something like this happens overseas, the USA is one of the first to deliver aid, but it was very embarrassing that it wasn't handled better on our own soil, no matter who was at fault. I noticed most of your questions deal with illegal immigration, which it sounds as though you support it, and let me tell you something, the American middle class, which consists of whites, blacks, hispanics, Asians, etc., should not have to pay taxes only to see our money go to giving someone a free ride. I work at a hospital where i see daily that illegal immigrants come here and get sick, can't pay their bill, so it's eaten by whom? The American middle class taxpayer! Whether anyone likes it or not, the flow of illegal immigrants into this country will stop! I don't think anyone blames Hispanics in particular, but anyone has to admit that Hispanics make up the majority of illegal immigrants! So come here if you want, but just remember, you will pay taxes, you will hold down jobs to pay those taxes, and try being a productive citizen of this country, stop trying to sneak in and send taxpayer's hard earned money back across the border to your families! And yes the rhetoric may be old but it's true! What brought China into this? Good for China! What a great, freedom loving Communist country! How much aid to the tsunami victims did you send? How exactly am I taking advantage of illegal immigrants? Did I ask them to come here?

If you really sit down and read about Katrina, you see it was a compounding of errors, starting with the failure to evacuate the city after it was determined that the levees were going to fail/had failed. Half the New Orleans police dept. left their posts, the state failed to help their own citizens, and then finally FEMA did a complete and utter botch-up of their jobs. But, first and foremost, the failure lay with the citizens themselves for failing to get themselves and their neighbors out of harm's way. There's no government program that can fix human stubbornness or ignorance. When the Weather Channel's blaring 24 hours a day and saying that there's a Major Storm coming, and you know you live in a flood zone, and you just sit there, well...

Im always surprised at how ignorant people are, the only president to grant amnesty to immigrants was President Reagan, i know that hurts liberals, but its true, clinton didnt have the heart to do it, sorry but its true!!!!!!!! People calling Bush a racist makes me laugh, and want to slap them at the same time, Bush has relatives that are mexican, he has set a plan to grant immigrants a faster path to citizenship, and he did without the support of most of his party, they day the house was voting on passing a bill against illegal immigration, he was with the Mexican President in Cancun, please people just stop making up lies, also if you want to blame Katrina, why dont you start with the first line of defense, New Orleans mayor didnt do anything to help them, he left over 2000 city buses in the city, w/o using them to bus people out, but yet he got reelected, hmm I wonder what would had happened to him if he was white?.........

I wasn't aware that they were.

I think the feeling of entitlement by the Katrina victims STILL hanging on to free rent a year after the event has pretty much replaced the scenes of true need at the time by now. It is no longer a symbol of government failure, it is a symbol of rampant feelings of entitlement.

Honey, every branch of government has a boss, and that boss has a boss, so on and so forth. The end in that chain of command is the president. I voted for Bush and I haven't stopped kicking myself in years. He was informed about the levys in desperate need of repair, just as he was informed of the threat against the US prior to 9/11. When someone continues to keep ignoring the little guys who he employs to make him aware of these things, the blame falls on his shoulders. It's also not a surprise. Bush has one thing on his mind and one thing only...winning a battle his father started years ago and couldn't finish. He has misled alot of our country and it has turned into a disaster. It's not arrogance that has me believing this. It's lost friends, innocent men, women and children killed, homeless, struggling in poverty, with no government aid, just so he can continue to finance his war on terror. It's gotten to the point where it's starting to look as though americans have their own terrorist leader.

The only one I have heard calling Bush a racist is the New Orlands Mayor. And that is because he's an idiot. I agree things should have been done diff. but that doesn't mean Bush is a racist! I don't think he is a racist and I don't even like the guy!

Its the beauty of America. We can actually talk bad about our leaders if we want. But I agree the real problem was the ineffective FEMA director and corruption in the state government of Louisiana. I think more blame actually lies with the mayor and governor.
