well if ur wyt pls dont .. and if ur wyt and dont like black folk then ur defitting the purpose. but theres really no way around the nappy ratty look but hey, you could always get dookie braids

First-
White, black, yellow pink green, don't listen to the rascists that say you should not get dreads if you are not black. Obviously they have no idea what they are talking about, because
a. African americans didn't invent dreadlocks, asain's did african's made them popular. (like indians created the mohawk-80s wave punks made them popular)
b. It's like saying "hey you weren't born with blonde hair you can't dye it" or "no your race didn't event the shoe don't wear them."

The best dreads do not look ratty, I'm a loctician, and I've seen them all I've done all races, and worked with various stages of development. Dreadlocks are no walk in the park, they are a major commitment. If you take care of the properly they will look great, you can achieve this in many different ways, by yourself or with the help of a professional.

Go to your local beauty supply and they have a special kit for dreadlocks, that has 4-6 products to take care of your braids! I actually did a kit on a clients hair, and it looked sooooooooo good!

well, if ya wanna have fake dreds, go to a salon, and let them use a tool to make um. but then your pretty much a poser.
