For a five year old, try Veggie Tales CD's and DVD's. They are quite plain and simple.
I would listen to some Christian Music stations and see what you would like.
www.air1.com is Christian Rock
www.klove.com is Contemporary Christian
www.spiritfm.org is Contemporary
Veggie Tales is a safe bet for your younger set though.

I was so gonna suggest Relient K. (Blink 182 of Christian music)
Switchfoot is a great group. Have you seen A Walk To Remember with Mandy Moore? The song she sang in the play, is theirs. And 2 more of their songs are in the movie. Switchfoot helped me get through some very bad times in the last few years.

Switchfoot and Relient K are fine, but they are grey bands in the Contemporary Christian Rock. It you want Christian Rock that fully exalts God's name try: Third Day, Hyperstatic Union, David Crowder Band, RED, Starfield, Shane & Shane, Audio Adreniline, and Sanctus Real...

I think your five year old would like Reliant K. They're pretty funny and clever.
Other Christian bands and musicians that are fun: Matt Patrick and Chevelle.
Here are two more bands: 5 Iron Frenzy (Ska), and Pegtop (Folk-ish, but great bass solos and guitar work!)

Try this...got to yahoo music and pull down the menu for videos. Choose "music by genre". Under the pictures of Beyonce , Amy Lee, etc. you'll see religious. Click it and you can watch their videos and choose something that you like.
You can also try Grits, Israel Houghton, Natalie Grant, and Lifehouse
