Exciting new treatments have recently been developed which can markedly improve the disease, and perhaps even cure, some people with Hepatitis C Virus. A combination of interferon and ribavirin (Rebetol) has been shown to be quite effective in a number of recent studies. Despite these recent successes, prevention of this disease is much preferred by avoiding risk factors.

The only one in western medicine that I know of is interferon. However, I know of some people who have been successfully treated for Hep C with Traditional Chinese Medicine (especially through herbal formulas). I would consider it preferable, since you can avoid weakening your immune response. However, I am currently studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, so I am a bit biased.
