Funny how the atheists are missing the question. it is not if they experience Love but whether or not they believe in it. It is amazing their hypocrisy. They at one point will mock those that have beliefs and can't empirically prove things. Yet they are so quick to confess their belief in love. Sorry I say they should be consistent. Prove it. Provide documented factual evidence of love. After all how many times have I heard atheist mocking rudely mocking people of belief. For the few atheists out there who do not believe in love but merely appreciate the biology involved. Congrats you are consistent.

re "there is no evidence" Fact of the matter there is. Josh McDowell, one man alone was able to collect more than 2 large books of "Evidence that demands a Verdict" their titles. Sorry as a Christian i will have to take facts over your statement of faith.

re Christians and hate. For the most part yes there are some exceptions most Christians hate ideas and not people. and by the way if you read David Limbaugh's 400+ page book "Persecution" you would find that the hatred is not one way.

"person", you're assuming that she's assuming something. All she did was ask a question. Hypocritical of you. Besides, a question can't be ignorant; only a "person" can.
judy r8, you didn't even answer the question; all you did was rant about fundamentalists and how much we hate. Go get a soapbox of your own. I'm a fundamentalist and I love you, no matter how blinded by prejudice and hypocrisy you are. God bless you.

Of course - I base belief on evidence, and there is a LOT of evidence for love!
Why wouldn't I?
After additional details were added:
It isn't about explaining things, or if they are necessary. I'll put it simply:
(Scienctific sense says that) there is lots of evidence for love.
There is no evidence of God.
I base my beliefs on evidence.
Therefore I believe in love and I do not believe in God, because there is evidence for love, and not evidence for God.
It is all about evidence!

This is an ignorant question. Why would you think that a person who is free from religion wouldn't be able to love? Atheists get married and have families, and usually there is love involved in that.

*Sigh.* YES, we do. What...does that surprise you?
But before you even say it, I have yet to see anything indicating that Biblegod is at all loving. Biblegod ordered mass murders, genocides and worse, played favorites and is passionatly jealous of any attention not given to him.
Josh McDowell has been refuted over and over again. Perhaps you missed it when you were busy with choir practice...

Can someone please explain to me what it means to "believe" in love? We are human...we have emotions...simple. This is like asking "do you believe in hate?" or "do you believe in envy?" Why is love singled out as something different than other emotions?

NICE QUESTION! Some say because they don't see God,they don't believe in Him.But how do you see love or even wind? You can't.You can see the effects of it,but you'll never actually see it.
I believe in God,Love(He invented it),and yes I believe wind exists even though I can't see it.
sorry,I know you asked for atheists, couldn't help it.
