what color highlights would look good on black hair?

i have black long hair and i dont know what color to highlight it. can you help me choose a color?

lol most of them are red and blue ...i think ima do something with color...blue or maybe reddish brown idk lol thanx

An auburn color would look good on black hair. Or a chesnut brown.

I recommend that you go see a salon professional for tips on coloring your hair. They would be able to help you chose the right highlights for your skin tone and hair style. You have to be careful with hair color because you're not using the chemicals properly, you can damage your hair. I'm headed to get mine done in about 30 mins so I'm just telling you this because I've been down that road before. Don't do your highlights at home. Happy highlighting!! :)

Hey! if you have really DARK hair, it is sooooooooo hard to lighten it. First off, most colors cannot be achieved in a 'one-step' process, if you want a blonde or such, make sure your hair stylist uses Color Graphics, its wonderful for not leaving a 'golden or yellow' tint. Second off, if you want a color such as....Alburn, red, and such they have to lighten it with bleach and then put a color back on it, do a blonde. If you don't know EXACTLY what you want, also use, Paul Mitchell's PMShines, it is GREAT, its a temp color and it can be alot of fun!

Red would be awesome. If you are looking for something a little more natural, you could try carmel or honey colored highlites! Have fun and play around with it! You could even do 2. Red, and carmel.

Well if you like color than I would do red or blue. If you arnt a fan of color like me than I would do a durty blond and med not to light or not to dark.

dark red or a medium - light brown... blonde highlights to back hair gives you the skunk look... go for caramel or darker.

get dark brown and dark red ones so you can see them a bit and you can notice a change, but when youre out in the sun or in bright lights your hair looks awesome.
