I'm up late watching the movie Empire - basically about latin drug dealers.

Why is it that cops can't crack down on these f*ckers like stormtroopers raiding villages.

Basically, the way I see it, if we had Cops in Swat gear, Kevlar helmets and level 3 body armor- bursting through doors, tossing flashbangs, and flattening dealers with MP5's , tasers and Colt M-4 assault rifles...dealers would think twice before selling anything.

Its not like we'd be violating the constitution...these people are reputed mobsters, racketeers and crime lords costing many American honest citizens their lives.

Basically I'd love to basically destroy these people's lives and make example after example of them. After a number of crushings word on the street would be that the police are no joke.

That's pretty much why countries like China have 1/10th Americas crime rates despite having 8 times the population. The citizens KNOW not to f*ck around.

Drug dealers are powerful because of money that they bribe the heads of policemen not to catch them.

problem is that you become dangerously close to an overpowered police force with potential for martial law. dont get me wrong, I LOVE that Idea to no end! Theres also the matter about whos gonna pay for all of this military equipment? if not, why dont we just have the national guard execute the drug crackdowns? you could have the 82nd Airborne parachute in during the night, and just hunt down drug dealer by drug dealer and gang leader by gang leader. I love the image, but there are too many collateral problems with it - they would be turning our city streets into a warzone by doing so. We dont need another "black hawk down" event happening on our streets because of the police/military's invasion type tactics in the law enforcement of our nation.

It's because they'd lose too much money from the occasional vehicle seizure, money swipe, etc....Police are not ignorant of the game...many are participants and even the stalwarts like having new stun guns to play with.

even our military is working with other agencies with other countries and its a ongoing battle. its just like the illegal aliens getting in. of all that are caught. thousands times each one gets through. when you have entire countries producing the drugs legally and then transporting it. its a battle to find it all. terrorists use it to buy the weapons they need. they support the cartels and in return, the cartels support the terror groups. its become very high tech in getting it in other countries now.

In LA you have about 8,000 cops.

In LA you have about 100,000 gang members.

If YOU want something done about gang bangers in your city, they YOU have to demand from your city government that something be done. And YOU had better be prepared to pay for it. The cops do not work for free and all those toys cost money.
