yeah...it's true. Actually, the complete phrase is: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder but too long absence makes the heart forget". When someone you love goes somewhere else you have this feeling of longing for that person. I know coz I have a long distance relationship. Very very difficult and takes a lot of patience and understanding. Good thing is that my heart never forgets and so does he!

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder."...That very well can be true, unfortunately it is also possible that "out of sight, out of mind" can be true. Which one manifests itself depends on the mindset of the people involved, and sometimes it's as much a mystery to them as to anyone else which case develops. Good communication will definitely help matters, though. It's a very precarious position to be in, but I wish you every good fortune as you go through this.

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" can be true. What is often called homesickness is a symptom of this. We miss the familiar things and people that we've given up by leaving or by their leaving our vicinity. Sometimes it gets better; sometimes it mellows into an occasional melancholy.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder. Leave your love one for while and you will realize all the things you take for granted on a daily basis.

Sometimes. In contradiction to that is the saying "out of sight, out of mind". I personally have experienced both so the saying I go by is "whatever will be will be".
