Most tomatoes last longer at room temperature. Refrigeration shortens their freshness. Packaged baby carrots will last in the refrigerator for up to a month. You'll be fine with the four day window even if you refrigerate both.

Don't know, because my husband bought baby carrots one day, I opened them right away, and they were already gross, make sure they don't look too suspicious when you buy them.
Question for you: can't you just make an extra trip to the store for the perishables like a day in advance? Just a thought...

If you buy them fresh they should be fine for over a week. Especially the carrots... they can last a month or so.

Watch dates, and what I do is toss my bag of baby carrots in the freezer as soon as I get them home. Great for making chicken stock whenever I want.

It should be printed on the package. Generally you can have things in your fridge for about a week - then throw it away.
