If you drive this car, you'll give chicks the impression that you are a family man...not too bad if you wanna hook up with a homely girl.

The new Camry hybrid is not the bland car it's ancestors are. The styling is pretty aggressive and when I see the new 2007 Camry's on the road they do stand out. The hybrids have a chrome grill which is cool, add the spoiler and it almost looks like a sports car, the way some people consider the accord to be one.

I think the hybrid can appeal to both the "take her home to mama" girl and the freaky chick.

The wholesome girl will love your passion about the environment, see sensitivity and she'll assume confidence because your driving something different than all the other guys. If the girl knows what a hybrid is you'll definelty stand out amoung the crowd and she might even approach you to ask questions about it. Mainly because of the more aggressive styling the Camry is better for this then the Prius because the Prius is labelled as a hippy car which could drive people away.

The freaky chick, you'll have to do some work but the great thing about gold diggers is that they like what you tell them to like. They may be a little prejudice at first but the styling will take some of that edge off, again it's a family car but could pass for a sport. Some girls know enough to associate the Camry with family so its up to you to convince them its not. Tell them about the extra thousands you paid to get the hybrid option. Tell them about the extra horsepower the hybrid engine gets you. Impress them with the all the fancy new technology that comes with the hybrid. Tell them your car is so quiet you can sneak her back into her house without her mama waking up.

This won't work for hard core trash and the Lexus and the Hummers will always trump you when it comes to club whores but other then people who clean porto-potties, who wants to pump chemical waste anyway?

The Camry isn't America's best selling car without a reason... The Camry hybrid is roomy and has a lot of premium appointments, similar to the XLE trim line.

Most Camrys for sale in the US are built in the US. Currently the Hybrid Camry is built in Japan, but production is moving to the Georgetown, Kentucky plant this fall as they retool the production line.

You should ask other Camry Hybrid owners about how they decided on their car, and how the single guys are faring...

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/camryhybrid/

But, get whatever car you like and can afford, and not what some other person thinks you should have. After all, it's you who'll be driving it and making the payments.

From a social standpoint, though, personally I'd say don't get a big truck or anything with a big growly engine or flashy sports look. Guys who do are probably overcompensating for something...

Anyways, the real chick magnet is to have a cute dog. ;-) Although, as a hybrid owner, you do get a lot of random people asking you about your car in parking lots and at the gas station... But to keep them once you're talking to them, that's all up to your personality... and not your car.

A $2600 US Federal tax credit, and whatever your state offers, isn't anything to sneeze at. EPA 40MPG city/38MPG highway on a roomy midsize car is great, and it has the lowest emissions of any other Camry. 8 year/100,000 mile hybrid warranty (hybrid battery covered out to 10 years/150,000 miles if you're in a CA-emissions state), reliability, safety, and simple maintenance as any other Toyota Camry... What's not to like?

Me being a gentleman also, and a car enthusiast, I see this and jump to some conclusions, I can't say if the fairer sex will also, but here's all the possibles in my mind:
1. He bought a Toyota, so he either doesn't like American cars or he just likes Japanese cars.
2. Since he bought a Japanese car, he may be a liberal.
3. He bought a 4 door for a reason, to save on insurance? Drives around this family a lot? Has a kid from a previous relationship?
4. He bought a Hybrid because he's either really thrifty, drives long distances or he cares about the environment.
5. He doesn't really care about the automaker or US steel unions, or he would have bought American.
6. Color - The color says alot about you. Grey might mean you're down to earth and in control, red might mean you like to go fast, blue might mean that you just want to blend in.

I'm not saying the above are or aren't true, I'm just saying people can get all kinds of ideas. If a chick is really thinking about it. If you have a good personality, they won't give a damn what you drive.

Most chicks seem to like camry's anyway. I sure see a lot of chicks driving them. I'm picturing a black one with dark tinted windows, a sunroof and some nice tires and wheels. Most Camrys are built in California by American union workers, so ignore all the "buy american" bs. Buy what makes you happy. Getting a hybrid shows that you like high technology and that you care about the environment. Hybrids are pricey. Not a bad thing if you are trying to impress chicks. I would say go for it.

Camry is a very bland car. But very reliable, etc.

Really depends on the ladies you want to attract. If you wan't ghetto girl, you'll need something with bling appeal - not a camry. If you like this car & want a compatible chick, you might be advised to find a camry loving chick. There's plenty of them!

Get what YOU want. The rest will follow.

I don't see why you couldn't drive one.. You are telling others that you are being conscience about the environment, you care about what you are throwing away for gas and that you are savvy about your money.. that goes a long way for a girl.. I work for toyota and I think that the new design for the camry is just great, it's looks great and doesn't give off the sense that if a single guy was driving it, that it would make they appear to be any less of a man.. They are great cars, they look great and you are going to be saving a hell of a lot in gas.. Girls will like that..

The ones that you do impress, will be impressed longer. Camry Hybrid looks almost exactly like regular Camry. Will be produced for market in Georgetown Kentucky in 2 months. But then again, chicks dig the long-ball.

I think it looks nice. Seeing a guy with a brand-new car is pretty appealing in itself. I think the Camry sort of has a "middle management" feel though. I don't know what you are looking for. Honestly, I usually judge a car by its engine. I would sooner have a Focus SVT than a V4 Pontiac Grand Prix. I like the styling of the Camry and I would buy if for myself if I had the money and it wasn't foreign.

You may have seen the Tesla electric sportscar http://www.teslamotors.com

You may have even seen the T-Zero electric sports car http://www.acpropulsion.com/ACP_FAQs.htm

These two cars show that it is now possible to build electric cars that can out-accelerate a Ferrari, and go 250 - 350 miles on a single charge. But both these cars are very expensive.

So who else is working on electric cars?

Would you believe China? They have to work on EVs. There won't be enough oil to support China's future economic growth.

I drive an old electric vehicle. I also have friends with electric vehicles. Some of them have recently been able to buy some amazing, cutting-edge EV batteries from China - example:

http://www.everspring.net/product-battery.htm

These batteries are better, and cheaper than the ones in those $100,000+ sportscars above. If you look at the chart, you'll see they are as cheap as lead-acid batteries, and they hold up for 1100 charges, twice as many charges as the other LI-Ion batteries on the chart.

Now, look at this car:

http://www.milesautomotive.com/products_xs200.html

It's a Chinese electric car, which will be imported into the USA next year. The driving range is almost as good as those sports cars above. But it only costs $28500.
