This might sound like a dumb question, but I live in Australia where there seems to be some disagreement about the pronunciation of this word. I always thought it was pronounced tahhhhco or tarco but some think it's pronouned the tacko. Please solve this puzzle for me!

Tahko is a good approximation of the pronunciation of the word TACO.
Just make sure that you pronounce the "a" like the "a" in "I can't" in the Queen's English. In Australia they should know how that sounds.
Good luck!

VEZ-i-nah Emphasis on the first syllable, followed by a short 'i' sound in the middle, not a long 'eee' sound

Tahko, In spanish it should be a short tah followed by a very short o. In East Texas it could be pronounced as many different ways as in Austrailia. Imagine the beginning of tall, and ko. Put them together, TACO.... you got it... say it again...TACO... GOOD... follow the bouncing ball....TACO>>>>>>TACO>>>>> TOCO>>>>>TAAAAAAAACOOOOO (music comes to a dwinding halt) take care
