why is thete so many dead beat dads?

I wish I knew. I guess just a lot of uncaring selfish men out there.. Don't get me wrong.. there are a lot of great dads.. my husband is one of them... but there are just too many dead beats... like my ex... at least 3 yrs behind.... who knows where he is... maybe Concordia Missouri... anyone from there? lol

dead beat dads are everywhere, don't get me wrong there are some good dads as well. But speaking from my point of view I'm a single mum of 2 kids for the last 6 yrs (my oldest is 8) Ive never had a penny from the "ex" he doesn't want to pay or see his kids he is busy with someone Else's, but who cares? i work to support my kids they are happy and healthy i know they are missing out on a father figure but I'm sure they'll understand when they're older that that was there "fathers choice" . some mums/dads have to bring the kids up on their own but if we bring them up right they will be loving, valuable members of society.

I have been a single mom for 5 years now and have received a whopping $50. I would like to say it is selfishness, but I think it is a lot more.
Woman have more of a bond with their children than men do. It is easier for them to move on, meet others, make more kids, etc. I think in some distorted way they think that we are the mothers so we will take care of them, but they dint realize what all we do without to care for our kids. Maybe if they had to make some of the hard choices that single moms had to make, they would think twice about supporting their kids.

I have asked myself that question and have tried to come up with a valid reason and have come up with one answer, THERE IS NO VALID REASON FOR A FATHER OR MOTHER TO NOT SUPPORT THEIR CHILDREN. None whatsoever. The only legitimate excuse is if they are 6 feet under. Of course then their children could at least draw Social Security off them.
It is so difficult for custodial parent to collect anything from the absent parent it is a joke. Unfortunately our system that we have set up in place is not set up to favor the children but is more on the side of the deadbeat parent. Justice for the children is definitely not on the childrens side. There needs to be a simpler system in place for the custodial parent to be able to turn to for help other than what we have now. One that works faster and has more teeth to it in order to expedite and get the job done.

I guess there are a lot of reason, some don't see their kids so they feel they shouldn't have to support them. Some are selfish and say they can't afford it because they need money for important things like alcohol and cigarettes. Some are angry at their child's mother and therefore punish the kids to get even with the Mom. Some are just jerks who don't care and don't want to be responsible.

but you notice, she didn't say a thing about the so called dead beat moms?? i've had my son for 10 yrs and i don't make promises that i never intend to keep, or missed birthdays or ballgames or help dad, i can't figure this problem out. not mom mind you but dad, but i'm not complaining, i know where he comes on bad storm nites or daddy i don't feel good. so now how about those dead beat MOMS!!!!!!

No offense but maybe it is because some and I do mean some women don't care who they sleep with. So they pay attention to the guy and how much of a butt he really is until afterwards!

because they think that if they dont pay it hurts the women but in truth it only hurts the children.and all they get from the state is a slap on the hand.been there and still dealing with it
