OK this might not be what you think, but any way. I want to visit Canada, but I have a felony on my record from the end of my "young and stupid" faze. That was nearly 10 years ago. Will this be a problem when crossing over? if so, what can I do to fix it, or get some kind of permission to visit Canada?

As Mokey has stated, you should contact officials (probably in both countries) tosee what is needed/expected of you before being legally allowed to leave/enter each country. I suggest clicking on the first link below from amtrak and then contacting both the links for US and Canadian officials to see what is required. The other links may be of interest for info on border crossing as well. You will also need a picture id (ie license) and generally your original birth certificate( with raised seal- not a copy) or a passport (which I honestly don't know if you could have with a felony conviction) in order to cross the border.

If they run a check on you, I don't think they will allow you in. You may need to get a pardon from the US before you can cross the border into Canada.

You should check first, but I'm pretty sure they'll let you in. We let anyone in, it would seem. Although I am worried because I have seen many questions like yours and I wonder how many American ex cons (or whatever) are ending up visiting Canada. Maybe if you bring one of your law abiding buddies, it will even things out.
