these two great fighters were great friends and refused to fight each other but, oh, what a great fight that would've been!

I believe Frazier knocks Norton out in 8 rounds. The reason: Norton didn't fight well against sluggers who came straight at him, moving forward and pressing the fight (George Foreman). Norton was competitive with Ali and Holmes because they BOXED. Ali and Holmes wouldn't press the fight until they knew they had their opponents hurt. Panther great question and it would have been a hell of a fight!

Joe Frazier was a great fighter with a lot of heart. In a 10 round bout,I would give the win to Frazier on points on a split decision.

Yes Joe Frazier and Ken Norton were great friends and refused to fight each other. These two guys also had something in common, they both beat Ali and each almost beat him in other bouts. I believe that Norton had a much better jab than Joe but of course Joe had that awesome left hook always coming forward. I believe that Joe's determination would decide this fight and in a terrrific fight he would win by split decision.

Frazier - W 32 (KO's 27) TF 37 - W pct 86% - KO pct 73% - wins over Bonvena, Quarry{2], Ali, Foster and Ellis[2] - KO'ed by Ali and Foreman{2} - #39 ranked puncher - #42 ranked fighter - 1964 Olympic gold at Hwy wt
His fight trilogy with Ali was the greatest ever
He should have had more fights

Norton - W 42 (KO's 32) TF 50 - wins over Ali and J. Quarry - KO'ed by Foreman, Shavers and Cooney (all in the 1st or 2nd rd)
Overrated (he did not beat that many good fighters [check box-rec]) as a fighter because he broke Ali's jaw and that one great fight that he had with Holmes.
He was a paper champion; he was given the WBC title because Ali chose to fight Spinks instead of him.

Norton was KO'ed early by big men. In this fight, Frazier by a KO inside of 10 rds.
