I'm just sick of reading verses on here that people pick out of the Bible. You have to read the whole chapter folks. You have to understand that the word of God, is not all the word of God. Paul wrote against it several times, yes - but the context, the context is just as important.
I am baffled at the stupidity of some of these so called "Christians." If you're going to preach, you need to get your ducks in a row. I will gladly discredit your rediculous statements based on my knowledge of Greek and Hebrew. It's like other things;
It's a sad fact that the truths of evolution are undeniable and oftentimes, Christians find it difficult to accept that it is possible that evolution is part of the creation process. World religions since the very first civilizations have created their own stories of how the world began, but it is our unfortunate disposiiton to be in such a new country founded on such secular beliefs. If you study world religions previous to Christ, you will be amazed at the stories found within their faith...they will look familiar. The Bible, being translated upon the request of King James brought about a new order of interpretation. As we do today, the laws, social expectations, were translated to fit the need of the time. In the same section that Paul speaks against homosexuality, he also mentions that women she not speak out in church, and many other abominations that nobody wants to discuss. A heterosexual minister with the Episcopal Church presented an awesome sermon breaking down the biblical passages that pertain to homosexuality, by this minister going over the chapter instead of reciting the verses, the bigger picture was seen by the congregation.
There are tribes in Africa where the male must have a wife and a male companion. Native Americans honored homosexuals and looked at them as special healers and/or allowed them to work beside the women in their daily duties. Ancient Rome, the nobles had young man servants who done a little more than served coffee.
Our ignorant culture hides many truths and understandings. You have to ask yourself, why do the most educated folks, especially those of the hard sciences, choose not to believe in God. Things to consider.
I will be glad to forward the sermon fore mentioned if anyone would like to read it. charlesboster@yahoo.com OR if you have a rebuttal against my statement. Let me warn you before I attained my doctorate in sociology, I did attend seminary - I have a sorted past, but I know my business...I can assure you of that.
Kind Regards, CB

Okay first you are not going to get a real answer from religous people, as they don't know themselves. So let me tell you what the real deal is.
1. The bible is just a faith book. It is not written in stone, that is why it is always being revised.
2. While in the old book there may be some testiment to not being gay, God also says that all sins can be forgiven if you except him. The idea that if you sin you go to hell would mean that all religous people are going to hell as they all sin. This is why in the bible it talks about jesus dieing for your sins. They will tell you that they are not sinning, but judging someone because they are gay is also a sin.
3. While people may not agree with the way of life these people tend to forget that God gave them free will, and in doing so you are following his design to live your life as you are, how can that be wrong.
If you want the truth there is no God, but if you want to believe in it, then know that you are not sinning according to him, but according to man.

If you believe there is a god and a heaven, I do believe God accepts you completely, regardless of your sexual preference. Forget about anyone who calls homosexuality an 'addiction' and that advocates therapy as a way to "heal" your homosexuality. Extensive studies have shown that you cannot "cure" homosexuality with therapy. Any therapy you seek should be non-religious and it should help you accept yourself.
I, myself, don't believe in god, heaven or hell. I wouldn't want to worship a deity that cannot accept me the way I am... straight, gay, black, white, happy, sad, male or female. And this god, especially the Christian god, is not the loving, accepting god that I hear people talk about. Read his book... for every "all who believe can enter heaven," there is another verse that says, "no homosexual shall enter." What's up with that?
Then you'll find Christians who say that much of what is in Leviticus was cancelled when Jesus died but they steadfastly stand by the "no gays" verses.
Just accept yourself as you are and accept that God loves you as you are. In the end, it's between you and God, not all these other hate-filled people who are out to make you miserable whlie you are on this earth.

Have your read the account of Sodom and Gomorrah and the reason God destroyed it? Genesis 18:16 through 19:14. and Jude (the little book before Revelation) verse 7 (Only one chapter to Jude) Also, Paul's words to the Corinthians - 1 Corinthians 6:9,10. Also, God's law to the Israelites: Leviticus 18:22 and (same book) 20:13. Also, read Genesis 1:27, 28.

The most important of what you have asked is that they have turned to Jesus and try to get into the Bible and try to pray to God and ask for his help and without a doubt the power of God will set in, and a Peace that was never before thought possible will enter into this persons soul and I would not be surprised if those desires would just simply evapourate.

Well if homosexuality is a sin, and repentance is turning away from sin, then technically they have not repented, and therefore not saved. i dont think there is another place they will go, the bible only mentions hell and heaven, eternal life or eternal damnation. i dont think "God" made gays gay, i think they make that an excuse. after all, God only created adam and even, from there we are offspring of them not of God.

If the person truly believes that God is God, they will try to obey God. the will not put their own desires before God's command. God did not make him that way. If the person believe that he was made that way then he is calling God a liar. So the two things cannot truly be in the same person. Either he believes God is Lord or he believes he is his own Lord.

Homosexuality is a lust of the flesh. As Christians we need to overcome the flesh (Galatians 5:24). God does not make lusts or sin. Man was perfect but now sinful. You or someone else must do whatever it takes to overcome this lust. ONLY THOURGH GOD CAN THIS BE ACCOMPLISHED.
