the story of sauls son jonathan and his love for david is of a brotherly love not a sexual love. so why do they twist it to say they are gay. its not true. they love each other like a brother loves his brother . thats like saying all people who love their best friends because they are close to them like a SIBLING is gay. not true. it needs to stop. they are not gay.

B/c people will find anything and twist it to justify what they are afraid to admit is wrong.

No, it is not like saying all people who love their best friends are gay. When good friends get naked together (1 Samuel 18:3-4), they may not be gay, but it's questionable . When they kiss and (arguably, based on translation errors) get erections while kissing (18:41), then it becomes a bit more than questionable.

If you consider all the evidence, there really is a pretty good chance that they were having a "physical" relationship. Maybe they were both straight, but just "exploring their sexuality", as teenagers will do; engaging in some harmless felatio and interlocution. You might want to just get over it.

18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

18:2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.

18:3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

18:4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

That all sounds very gay to me.

Looks gay too ...

I think you are the one doing the twisting here because I really don't hear any people in the 'gay community' citing the bible. Having said that though, I fail to see the crime in some else having a different interpretation than you. Or is any interpretation that doesn't fit into your narrow view 'twisted'?

Hum, so why when do the Christian community continue to lobby against issues that span several religious and non religious groups. Get a grip, who cares wheter or not the story is twisted in what ever direction, does it really matter? Are you just winging or does this really effect you and your relationship with God to think that there could be a chance they may have been gay? Who gives a flying to**, really, ask yourself!

I've never heard a gay person say this.

I have seen the bible used to justify slavery tho.

And the bible was used to prove that the sun went
around the earth. Some dude almost got killed for
saying otherwise :-)

Before 9/11 the bible was used to ask "What Would
Jesus Do". After 9/11 the bible is used to ask "What
Would David Do"

Just depends on the how God is going to help
prove a point today...

Heresy....Heresy!

They do it because most of the people who wrote or came up with the stories of the Bible were gay. Why are mostly men mentioned in the stories and not women? Why are men so highly regarded and not women? Does anyone not see that in the Bible women are underestimated? Women have always been pawns and toys to men. The Bible is for men.

The Bible does not say it was brotherly love. The actual language used is the same language used regarding marriage.

Bisexuality was not uncommon in the ancient world, particularly among the ruling elite. It's possible that is the actual meaning.

All stories in the bible are usually twisted to conform to the preferences of the reader.

You are right about the stroy getting twisted. People look for anything and grasp at it to try and support their choices.

They will use this part of the old testament to try and support their lifestyle, but they do not want to look at Leviticus 20:13.

I don't want to put that verse on here ---
