Just because the companies that market Christian groups make lots of money doesn't mean that the artists themselves do. Artists make most of their money from concerts, not from record sales. And even if the artists do make a lot of money from concert tickets and to a lesser degree from album sales, who's to say they're not using what they earn to help other ministries? Just because they bring in the bucks doesn't mean they're keeping the cash for themselves.

For that matter, I'd much rather listen to tunes that glorify the Lord rather than glorifying the world, and I gladly support bands whose music reflects this sort of thing. Check out the links below for some food for thought about the Christian music industry--it's not the spawn of Satan that some people make it out to be.

You don't think the singers provide a ministry to others with their songs?
Alot of them (the groups themselves) donate a ton of money and time to other ministries as well.
The major label distribution system allows them to reach more people than they could regionally.

Its definitely a paradox.

you're definitely not a christian artist are you? you think people who love GOD ought to walk around broke giving good music away why it is perfectly fine for secular artists to make millions feeding mindless drivel to the masses...wow where does one sign up for that deal?
