The crown feels stable, but sometimes when I accidentally tap the tooth against something, it feels as though something inside is moving slightly. I heard that it could be the post and that I shouldn't worry about it. What do you think? I don't want my crown 2 fall off!

HELP!!

I just had a crown put in a few weeks ago and keep feeling like something was stuck between my tooth. Tonight I felt something funny and guess what?!!! A post fell out! I asked a doctor here where I work if I needed to do anything and she said they should have took that one out-it was a temporary one. Freaked me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~~~ your crown should not be moving, it should be like your natural teeth. Once the Dentist seated the crown it should never move,,,, If it is loose then food could get trapped under the margins and could cause infection because it cannot be cleaned properly. You Dentist should check it and if needed you should have a new crown made at no charge. Many dental labs will guarentee there work and not charge the Dr for remakes. ~~~
Please talk to your dentist. I'm sure you paid a pretty penny for your crown. I have one that is bothering me after a year. I have an appointment with my dentist soon for a cleaning, I plan to ask on the other. Are you not in a position to talk to your dentist?
If it is a new crown, it may just take a bit to get used to. Good Luck!
Have your dentist X-ray it and check it out. Not much we can do for you online.
