That is almost like singing karaoke at a karaoke bar and being arrested for singing a song the owner did not like! I mean, if the lady was getting out of control, then,I could understand that but, she could actually appeal the case.Or, move the hell out of Texas! LOL This is another tax payers waste of money. There are people out there killing and stabbing and stealing and raping and officers arrest a women because she was drinking in a bar?
Wow, what has our society become?

Prior to contrary belief a "bar" is not a private establishment, and public drunkeness is not drunken disorderly. It is an old law, however you will find that cops can bust anyone anywhere for being drunk. Even if it is just .08. If you are under 21 it is .01 and you are done in Texas... and you lose your license. What county was that in? Some are still dry down here.

Actually, it is not legal to take a gun into a bar, or more accurately, possess a gun in a bar in Arizona. If you have a gun it must be checked with the bartender, permit or not. This happens quite frequently during elk season.

In Texas, there are dry counties, and I suspect the cops were a little zealous in enforcing the public intoxication statutes,

Yes. That is true. Lately, the authorities have gotten a little overly zealous in the enforcement of this aspect of the law down here. There have been many complaints. So be warned! Also, parts of Texas are "wet" or "dry" according to local option and then there are the private clubs, etc.

Yes, and you can be arrested if you are working in a bar and you served the drink that made them drunk. Seen it happen. They can come in your house and arrest you for being drunk.

Are you serious??? How ironic is that? I guess the cops in Texas were bored that night and needed to get to bust one last person before their shift ended so they decide to try to get away with busting a drunk woman in a hotel bar. Stupid cops. Think that they can get away with anything.

this is just TOO over zelous.... I can see them waiting near the parking lots of bars and then busting people for drunk driving but as long as they don't drive drunk and are not trying to pick a fight it should be ok.
I think most people would agree with this.

Think that's stupid - it is currently quite legal to take a gun into a bar, in Arizona (where it's an open carry state & you don't need a licence to openly carry a gun in public anyway).
