Sorry to say but it really creeps me out how so many now decide to use Artificial Inseminatation and others ways to get pregnant that do not Include men In the process. I mean If you give Birth to a boy he can't grow up around Lesbians or life is going to be really toough trying to explain why everyone else has a Daddy and He has two Mommies. By the Way Lesbians do use those options as ways of having Kids.

I don't think you need an answer as to why lesbians use artificial insemanation, that is pretty obvious. I think for straight women it is just because it seems safer to them. I know so many divorced couples and never married couples who have to share custody and it is very hard on everyone involved. Maybe they feel like it is less hassle or something. I don't really have anything against it but I don't think I could ever do it myself, I've always had a idealistic family image in my head with a dad included.

I know it isn't just lesbians, they tend to have a relationship just not of the fertile kind so are not single in that sense of the word. I do not feel anyone has the right to have a child without the benefit of two parents who love each other. Getting one later just does not cut it either. I understand why it happens sometimes but that is no excuse and it is selfish. Kids have a right to have both parents, they need both. Single parenthood is not the ideal and usually not a choice. Making this decision intentionally is just thoughtless and selfish in the long run. I am referring only to having a child on ones own by choice,whether artificially or with a chosen "father" Just tossing my opinion in the opinion pool.

Why do most men project their fears and feelings on women? Ok, even score, the answer is based on a false hypothesis. Most women do NOT decide to get pregnant on their own. None of this is remotely about lesbian issues, as men use surrogates to raise babies with their gay lovers. Seriously, take a chill and think about the way you presented this. More than a tad judgemental, don't you think?

Half the guys up and leave anyway, so why not start out as a single mom.

you dont have to be gay to use Artificial Inseminatation. Some women want a child and just havent found the right man.

I think one reason is that so many men end up leaving their families, that some women just figure it's better not to involve them at all.

Just because a woman chooses artifical insemination does not mean she is a lesbian. Not all women who do not have a man and choose that route are gay!!!
