Everyone philosophizes everything to death. Lol. Selfless deed is not "did you get anything out of it". It is was your intent for the other person to be happy, whether you get something out of it or not. Let's face it, many ppl do things for ppl cause the want to feel like a good person or they want to help but they expect that person to react a certain way. If you do something without worrying about whether you will receive gratitude or to make yourself feel better, your literally doing it bc you can make someone's day brighter (and yes it's possible to do something for someone bc you want them to feel hope) than that is a good deed. Your intent was just to bring them up.
Nothing is impossible with God. See value in everyone despite their circumstances. You don't have to like the person but love is much deeper than a feeling.

No good deed is truly selfless. We offer help and are generous, but there is a prize at the end too. Acts of charity make you feel good, you did the right thing, you are a happier person because of it, the world is slightly better because of your contribution, etc...
Your reward are the warm, positive feelings that follow.

It's impossible. Every selfless good deed brings happiness in one way or another. Whether it be in believing in Karma and it will come back to you, or the feeling it gives you when you help someone else.

A selfless good deed is wanting happiness for someone else instead of yourself!

It would have to benefit another, without any incentive to you. So, help someone out that you dont care for, and perhaps without enjoying its result, is a true good deed.

you are ABSOLUTELY right! i try to tell people this all of the time but they dont believe me. i believe that everything you do is for yourself, and that actually makes me kind of depressed thinking about it =(, like if someone was 'doing a nice thing for you' you would know its just for them. this is why i think that nobody does anything wrong in the world ever because even a murderer is only trying to fullfill a need or want or get rid of an uncomfortable feeling like revenge and the only way to effectively and readily rid themselves of the uncomfortable feeling is doing something like murdering someone. it's only a 'bad' thing because it happens to hurt other people. ok, i believe that everything you do, you do, because you are under the influence of an emotion of some kind. this is from anger, to boredom, to love, to content, to anything. if someone for example annoys you by pulling your hair, your human reaction is to get angry. because you are angry, you will act, usually with words or violence, because experiencing the emotion of anger is uncomfortable and the most readily and effective way of riding yourself of it is by releasing it through these things. another example is jumping infront of someone whos going to get shot. the person is experiencing the emotion intense fear, anxiety and also is under the influence of adrenaline. acting calm and relaxed through sitting down or standing still is an uncomfortable experience (just like trying to strap someone in a chair that has just had a tonne of sugar, you just want to get out and run around) and to achieve comfort again, out of desperation, the person jumps infront of someone who is going to get shot and they would feel good about being the 'hero' on the way.
