Eating your food slower will give your brain a chance to register that you are indeed full. So take small bites, chew slow and enjoy!

Yes! If you eat too fast you don't give your brain time to let you know you are full. Plus, if you eat slower you can really taste your food, enjoy it more. It's an overall more satisfying experience.

Yep...I have always been a slow eater. My mom and friends can't stand it. But while everyone is stuffing their faces at holiday dinners I take my time and never feel like I'm going to explode. I also don't gain the holiday weight everyone complains about. And when I go out to dinner with friends they are ready for the bill while I still have my plate in front of me. I usually end up leaving dinner with a to-go box. When you slow down to eat you actually get to taste and enjoy all of the food flavors. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy the food and if you are eating with friends you get to enjoy their company too. But don't talk with your mouth full.

By eating slower, you give your body time to let your brain know when you are full so you actually will eat less and realize that you are full before you even finish your meal.

it is actually cause when you eat a whole ton of food all at once you dont feel too full so you keep on eating and then right after you get a stomach ache. Just eating small portions slowly one at a time is just better for you and your body.

Yes...because you are taking time to enjoy the food and you're more in tune to your body's "Full feeling" insead of cramming it down in a hurry and going beyond the sated feeling. You will eat less, too. It does work...but unfortunately, most people's schedules don't allow much time to really savor food.

yes, it takes a little while for your stomach to send the brain the message its had enough, if you eat fast you have usually consumed more than you needed to before the brain got the message. slowing down helps. i am diabetic and its required that i eat in stages, i often have my salad two hours before my main dinner then some dessert, like sugar free jello with a little fruit, acouple of hours after dinner, then im fine till bed time, when i have a couple of whole wheat crackers and half a glass of skim milk. that holds my system till morning. hope this helps you.

Yes, it takes the brain about 20 minutes to get the signal that you're full, so slowing down allows your brain to catch up.

what i've heard is that..it takes like half an hour after
a meal before our system gives us a hint that we've had enough already... it would be a good idea to eat slower so as not to add more servings to what u already have..
