Why do you think it was called "the dark ages"? Because christianity was all over the place and therefore everything was backwards. And why do you think the Roman Empire fell? Because of christianity. And what about the south? They're all christians down there and look at how backwards it is. All of these things cant be coincidences.

I think you are doing too much of it.
I also think you are talking a lot of nonsense.

Discuss,
I wonder where people like you come from. Do you live next door to the Laugh Factory?

"Did you notice how backwards christianity is?"
Coming from a non believer I take that as a compliment.

"Why do you think it was called "the dark ages"?"
Let me guess, this is just a guess, okay? Not that I've read anything on the subject before, ever in my life. It was called the Dark Ages because if you weren't Roman Catholic, and you were pointed out, you were persecuted. The bodies laying on the banks of the rivers and in the streets caused a mass explosion in the number of rats who had fleas. The fleas were carriers of the Bubonic Plague, for which there was no cure. So it wasn't Chirstianity, it was the Roman Catholic Church under a doctrine and being the best example of why there should be the Separation of Church and State.

Oh, look what just fell into my lap! Where did this come from?
Chapter VI
Sixty women were racked so violently, that the cords pierced their arms and legs close to the bone; when, being remanded to prison, their wounds mortified, and they died in the most miserable manner. Many others were put to death by various cruel means; and if any Roman Catholic, more compassionate than the rest, interceded for any of the reformed, he was immediately apprehended, and shared the same fate as a favorer of heretics.

Chapter V
In this loathsome prison was poor Mr. Lithgow kept until he was almost devoured by vermin. They crawled about his beard, lips, eyebrows, etc., so that he could scarce open his eyes; and his mortification was increased by not having the use of his hands or legs to defend himself, from his being so miserably maimed by the tortures. So cruel was the governor, that he even ordered the vermin to be swept on him twice in every eight days. He, however, obtained some little mitigation of this part of his punishment, from the humanity of a Turkish slave that attended him, who, when he could do it with safety, destroyed the vermin, and contributed every refreshment to him that laid in his power.
-Foxe's Book of Martyrs

"All of these things cant be coincidences."
Neither do they have to be the truth!

I guess you're entitled to your opinion but I think that you are over simplifying "Christianity" . There are millions of Christians all over the world that don't all believe what some of the Christians in the south do. Not to mention the Christians in Roman times, it's hard to even call it the same religion I'm a Christian and I'm sure that there are other fundamentalist Christians out there that think I'm going to hell for my more liberal views.

The fall of the Roman Empire was not all bad, so don't give them exclusive credit.

Oh come on Dixie ain't backwards dey's jus' fo'k.

You win with the Dark Ages though, it is indisputable.

I wouldn`t call you backwards, but you do need to study more before voicing such statements.

why don't you do a little research next time before you blurt out stupid things again!! if you really want to know about the religion/beliefs and don't want to just blurt out whatever ridiculous thought that enters your head...then 1. read the Bible (for some background on what you're talking about and a little understanding of where christians are coming from), 2. go talk to a pastor or something or even a TRUE believer (they can help correct your lashing out/accusatory statements), 3. next time try to make an at least somewhat intelligent comment...

...the whole "think before you speak" thing can really come into play here

P.S. if you don't believe, then don't bother with it...just because we believe something different doesn't mean you have to ridicule us or bash our beliefs...i'm not saying anything against non-believers, so why should you say something against me and what i believe?

grow up and realize that there are other people besides yourself and that they have different thoughts/feelings/beliefs/opinions/etc besides yours...oh, and that you aren't as smart as you really think you are

why can't people just accept that some people are different from them? why do they insist on trying to change them? or not even that...they just mock them/ridicule them/ostricize them/etc...why can't we seriously just live together in peace and accept things the way they are? people are different...get over it

Christianity has caused more blood shed then Goodness. It is backwards, being Jesus true message was peace and enlightenment before the CHURCH (catholics) made a Monopoly out of it. Killing in the name of God (forgetting the Commandments). Racist preaching that Darker colors are a curse from God. Christianity is bullshit.

it isn't backwards. just your thinking is. you are intimidated by Christianity because we have something that you don't - Faith. I've never heard of non-Christians or atheists giving help to the poor and needy. people like you spend so much time hating us because you know you can't defeat us.

You guys keep looking and looking for ways to point at Christians and God. It´s funny how you always try to make up stupid excuses to avoid the truth-
Men has this unique power to destroy whatever falls in his hands, even religion.

No..it's not backwards..God is what all of it was founded on...I think that the ones who turned to their own way of living are the ones that are backwards.
