It's okay, but you will have a harder time burning off the calories while you sleep.
During sleep, your metabolism slows down and the calories you eat before you sleep are stored in fat cells.
It's hard, but try not to eat before you sleep.
If so, then eat 2-3 hours before you sleep and at least take a walk after, or eat a smaller portion. Should you feel hungry, drink some sparkling water, or eat an apple. The carbonation from the water and the sweetness from the apple will help fill you up.

If you are hungry 1 or 2 hours before bed, eat a raw vegetable, like a few pieces of celery, carrot or some corn. It is relatively low in calories/kilojoules (compared to biscuits, ice cream, pop tarts etc), and contains fibre, which gives the sense that you have eaten well. It is also good for your digestive system.

Like lots have said only if you want to gain lbs. Your body slows down when you sleep, I think you know what that will do to your body. If you can't help your self try some popcorn. Now this is without salt & without butter, just plain. Also try eating it 1 peice at a time, not by the hand full. This will take some getting use to but if you stick with it I think you'll feel better. LUCK

My significant other is a diabetic dn must eat every 6 hours. The doctor has told him to eat before he goes to bed.
Eating before you sleep has nothing to do with weight gain. Weight gain depends upon calories in vs calories burned.
Read this....what the other people are saying are old wives' tales

You can eat a light snack before bedtime. Bread and fruit will do nicely an hour or two before you hit the hay. So will a glass of warm milk. Avoid sugary snacks that can excite your system or heavy meals that can stress your body.

Personally, I tend to have weird dreams if I eat before bed.
I've heard it is not good because you cannot burn off many calories by sleeping. Drink a glass of water before bed to keep you hydrated....fills up your tummy.
Well, unless you are prone to wetting the bed....
