Nah............it's more a matter of not wanting to follow certain changes in the church. This way they can preach what sounds good to them.

I want to say yes because I believe religion is the root of all violence. However, I must admitt I really don't know what a fundamentalist is so my opinion most likly don't count.

That depends on the root teachings of the religion of which you speak. For example, Christians who "truly" follow the teachings of Christ Jesus, are supposed to be peaceful - therefore a true "Fundamental" Christian does not embrace violence.
The Fundamental teachings of Islam while some argue is peaceful, it does give room to be violent, in contrast to Christianity is almost the complete opposite.
Now, I am not saying there are not violent people who call themselves Christians. There are, sadly enough. But as I pointed out, the fundamental teachings of Jesus were peaceful and made no permissions or exceptions for violent behavior or retaliations.

It's true, those who call themselves Christians have been responsible for the deaths of thousands. But atheism has been responsible for the deaths of millions (think Joseph Stalin, Idi Amin, etc..)
The question is -- what is the basis (standard) for judging behavior?
