why is it that we talk so open about sex but are so discret about god?

Great question. I don't have an exact answer. However, I think it is because we have forgotten how to talk about God.

Good point. Isn't it ironic that say 50 years ago to talk about sex openly was somewhat taboo. "Nice" people didn't talk about such things and now the subject of God and religions have become the taboo. Maybe because all human beings have a instinctual desire for sex and through sexualized marketing and media coverage of celebrities (even the president) have made it something that is in our face every day. Their is no real regulation on how often we are allowed to see sexual material. I'm not referring to pornography (even though it is more accessible then ever) but things like music videos, beer commercials, celebs sex tapes and so on. All the while there is a fight to keep the talk about God out of schools, the pledge of allegiance and even out of Christmas.

I don't think people are discrete to talk about God, You've seen that in this categories (religion & spirituality) many people talk about God... about their religions, about their beliefs...

Well..I, for one, am not like this...
But it seems to me, that whenever you talk about God..people start getting mad..then the fight's on..but if you want to talk about "other" things..that's alright by them..when it should be the other way around.
